Ressources partagées, 79 housing units, Poitiers

79 housing units, Block B, ZAC des Montgorges, Poitiers

Resources include the land, the flora and fauna that must be preserved; they include materials that should be conserved in terms of both physical resources and carbon; they include the people who make up the local community; and they include the wisdom and knowledge of the residents. Sharing means the harmonious coexistence of the human species with other living species; it means using resources sparingly and participating in the local economy (supplying wood and the local resource of chopped straw); it means envisioning life together with others, sharing common spaces: service areas, gardening spaces, and the common room; it means sharing knowledge and skills by organizing workshops around the bread oven and gardening sessions. Shared Resources means paying special attention to the balance between city and countryside; it means innovating building methods in the era of ecological transition; it means placing residents at the heart of the project, building community around shared uses, and fostering a sense of togetherness. It means creating a setting that enriches daily life.

By reinterpreting the traditional farmhouse design, we have designed a layout that gently structures the site, creating a clear and protective urban form. Our commitment to low-carbon construction is embodied in a wood-frame facade insulated with chopped straw from the local IELO supply chain a frugal yet high-performance building strategy that enables us to achieve the BDNA Silver certification. This design prioritizes quality of life above all else.

The project centers around a courtyard entirely dedicated to pedestrians and densely landscaped to create a true oasis of coolness. This lush central space, designed as a biodiversity corridor, features shared gardens and communal areas (bread oven, workshop) to foster a vibrant neighborhood life amidst a natural environment.
